Spinal Decompression Surgery, Laminectomy or Laminotomy
A surgical procedure to relieve pressure on the spinal cord and/or spinal nerves usually caused by bone spurs or arthritis of the spine. The procedure involves the removal of partial lamina (laminotomy) or the removal of one or more lamina (laminectomy) with the release of spinal cord and/or nerves.
